Washing
- Washing process that occurs
after the garment is assembled
- Result is a softer, white
shirt with less shrinkage
- Recommended for customers
needing a “pre-shrunk” garment
in order to embellish
- If you will be using white as a “color” in
your garment dye line, garment washing is utilized
to shrink the white garments so that the sizing is
consistent with the product you garment dye.
- Washing process that occurs either
before or after garment is assembled
- Principally used
to reduce pilling
- Result
is cleaner finish with a softer hand
Dyeing
Dye types and processes are selected based on
the fabric (or combination of
fabrics) to be dyed, the garment type, and the
desired color, consistency,
texture, and feel of the finished garments. A lab
dip approval is required
for custom colors.
Dye Processes
- dyeing process that occurs after the garment
is sewn
- PFD fabric is cut, sewn, and then the garment
is dyed

flexibility, particularly with replenishment
and reorders

garments
- greige fabric is dyed, then the colored
fabric is cut, sewn with matching
thread into garments
- recommended for customers wanting
a “color
blocked” look where the body
is one color and the sleeves another color
- minimums
average between 600 to 800 units per color, depending
on
fabrication and garment style

best type of dye to meet your needs.
